Yet More Religion.

I cannot stop thinking about religion. About the possible existence and nature of God. I have a strong conviction that We humans are not the highest intelligence or “mentality” in Existence. Note I say “Existence”, of which our “Universe” is probably but a small part. I believe that there are countless higher intelligences. There may be a “premier league” of intelligences that operate at least throughout our galaxy. Also there may be an elite group of “forces” or “powers” around. And it is quite likely that the intelligent ones also wield all the power. The “Star Wars” phrase, “May The Force be with you!” seems most apt.

I Believe in God. However, I’m not convinced the human race has truly or fully found “Him”. Indeed I doubt God is a male. As a Creator, God is much more likely to be a female. Or even more probably a Hermaphrodite. Not necessarily just one being either. Quite possibly a Race (collective Deity?) of Gods.

For me though, all this is mere detail. What matters is that basically I have a good feeling about all this. For God or whatever seems to be fundamentally benevolent and Loving. However, S\he or They is\are keeping His\Her\Their distance and letting Us find our own way through life. The grammar gets difficult here! Such is God. Amen.

Existence 2

Been thinking about God again. Basically I do Believe that there are higher intelligences around other than us. Even if these intelligences did not create our universe, they are wonderfully powerful. Our scientists tell us that there are countless stars older than ours which probably harbour far more intelligent life forms.

There may even be a “God” that created our Universe. Whether God is a single being or a whole race of such beings is but a matter of detail. The Greeks, Romans etc. may have been right with their “deities”, or wrong, but who cares?

Anyway, I strongly suspect that our “Universe” is not the be all and end all. Better to talk of “Existence” consisting of “Realms” or some “Multiverse”. Look, our scientists have done fantastically well over recent centuries, but it would be supremely arrogant to claim they’ve discovered everything. There must be an awesome lot more for them to explore and reveal. There is almost bound to be something beyond our universe.

If we accept the concept of Time, then there must logically have been a point when “Existence” began, without intervention from some extant intelligence. The “Accident” theory must hold true. An Ultimate Intelligence nevertheless remains possible. What counts for us, however, is whether any higher intelligence will help us in our “plight”. That remains to be seen. Out.

'Fraid I'm gonna get heavy again! Cannot understand what's going down with some people! Look, I DO Hope there is an Afterlife! And a God (or Race of gods)! That would be Good. Yet I cannot understand how anyone can be a martyr, or a "suicide bomber"! I hear some DOCTORS have done this! Yet how can they Guarantee going to Heaven etc.???? Cannot understand paedophiles or rapists either! Just cannot see their point of view (or POINTS of view or whatever). Cannot understand gay men NOT fancying Fern Cotton, Beyonce etc.!!! The "martyrs" though, have they ANY rationale for what they do? How can you convert people to Islam if those people (and themselves) are blown up? Let's have some common sense here!

DECISIONS!

Looking again at my last post on benefit traps etc. It still seems wrong that having food and shelter should be linked to your willingness to work or learn! EMA seems a pittance anyway -if you qualify! It's a grant that's smaller than a benefit giro! I'm all for a "Work Ethic" - everyone doing his or her fair share for the community, but I'm not in favour of kicking kids out onto the streets. We need to do what's Best for all, Not what's Worst!

As I recently said in my personal diary, at Heart I am a "Humanist" who believes in, "All for One and One for All!" Many people Believe in some "God" or "Supreme Being". Yet, as I recently typed:

"What I don’t understand is this general obsession with “Supremacy”! Why do people need some super father-figure to justify their principles? They’re worse than me and that’s saying something! Actually there could just as easily be a supreme “race” or intelligence in overall charge rather than just one entity. What matters most is how He\She\They\It relate\s to Us: whether they keep away or slam us with thunderbolts! We are what matter: that we are safely housed, fed, educated and so on. Ultimately I Believe in Humanity: in Our Loving Nature (At Best), Our Intelligence, Talent, Genius and so forth. Out there somewhere there may be species Superior to us, but good luck to them! What counts is that We make the most of our Better qualities. Amen."

Looks like I've got onto religion again! Or "Philosophy"! Enough for now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!

It's about thirty five minutes to go before 2007! Last night I thought to myself: Just Allow yourself to Believe, Paul! Believe there is much more to Life than there seems to be. Believe in Colin Fry! In The Afterlife! In Telepathy. Telekinesis. God. Even Christianity! Whatever! Stop being just an Agnostic! Be Positive! You'll Feel Better! Lighten Up! Chill Out! Only face The Negative when you have to. Not Yet! Enough with deep philosophizing and serious sombreness! Are We Cameras for a Higher Intelligence? Much More than cameras because We Feel etc.! Nuff Said. Amen.

PS When I was about 18 I decided (in the college library, Huddersfield) that the first Priority is "Survival". You have to start with the Basics: clothes, somewhere to live (buildings\houses\homes), food and water, security and then Health. Nowadays Connexions and similar agencies talk of "being safe", "being healthy", "being rich (more or less)", and so on. None of this is rocket science, more common sense. Maybe We should build campuses or communes for people to live in! With single and double rooms (at least), canteens, washeteria, medical facilities etc. Like a Kibbutz but perhaps not Quite so "Communal"! Something to ponder here. Yet not to mull over too much! Amen.

THE HOW, THE WHY AND THE WHEREFORE.

What is The Purpose of Life? Is there a God? What is the Question to the Answer 42? What is Good? What is Evil? What is Valuable and what Worthless? Is There an Afterlife? Or are We just flowers that wilt and flake away? These are some of the questions I have pondered over the years.

The Answers? Well, recalling the old comic sketch: I Really Just Don't Know! I suppose that makes me something of an "Agnostic". Perhaps Life is part of an ongoing Exploration to discover such things. All We Can Do, I think, is to Acknowledge\Appreciate All That Is Good and go from there.

I once started drafting a book called, "the Bedrock" on this. Firstly I Esteem All Life, then All Intelligence. Things such as Love, Beauty etc. must be Valued. However, I realise other people will have different Views on what is beautiful etc. I Do Hope, however, that there Is An Afterlife for myself and all others. Otherwise, All Goodness etc. is open to debate. As the old marvel comics used to say, Nuff Said Fer Now.
